Organisation G implemented our Mind Strength for Professionals programme by offering their high performing teams an opportunity to look at how performance can be enhanced further with the implementation of science-based tools and mental wellbeing strengthening techniques. They upskilled their teams in resilience building techniques and psychology skills that support strong performance under pressure.
We measured the outcomes. Their people became measurably less stressed, had improved their mental wellbeing, and sustained strong resilience in rising to meet work-based challenges. Because they felt they had new tools to turn to, and further high-level thinking strategies, they reported they were more productive and happier at work.
Background and Objectives
Organisation G recognised that giving their people the opportunity to succeed and help them fulfil their potential was crucial to them staying ahead of the market and maintaining their agility.
In completing the Mind Strength for Professional programme, their goal was to maintain high performance within a high-pressured environment, whilst simultaneously looking after their mental wellbeing and enhancing strong resilience.
Solution
The Mind Strength for Professionals programme is a 7-week programme through which participants gain a complete psychology-based toolkit of practical tools and techniques that include stronger cognitive skills, the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, enhanced collaborative relationships, and the ability to be highly resilient in the face of challenge and stress. It was delivered through a combination of self-led online skills-build learning and individual coaching sessions.
Implementation
33 individuals have completed the Mind Strength For Professional programme since firstrolled out in October 2022. All participants engaged in the online component individually and privately, with supporting coaching sessions taking place as individual one-to-one sessions (82% of individuals) or in small groups of 3 (18% of individuals). This flexible approach allowed the client to tailor the programme to suit their teams.
Participant engagement was excellent, with a 100% completion rate. All coaching sessions were facilitated by a Clinical Psychologist, ensuring the individual received expert guidance in the acquisition and behavioural application of the science-based skills and models. Individuals were very positive about the programme’s approach and structure.
“I thought the content and messaging was great. Helped prioritise both delivering your best performance at work, and outside – rather than pitting one against the other. I thought the goal setting was helpful, and the discussions with [Psychologist] were great.”
“[Psychologist] was knowledgeable, experienced, and very strong within her field.”
“It is straightforward to follow but it challenges you enough to make you want to try new things.”
Good communications and commitment supported the teams’ successful engagement in the programme. Anticipated challenges, such as scheduling conflicts, were diminished due to the flexible availability of the online modules and the flexibility of a self-serve booking system for coaching sessions.
